Fairy and Unicorn Challenge

Hello again, this morning I have the privilege of posting for a new challenge The Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog.   This time we would love to see your mythical creature makes so all those fairies, mermaids, witches, wizards, unicorns (this is just to give you an idea of what to use) you have hiding in your stash dust them off and show us them all. 

I choose to use some flower fairy foiled decoupage I have had in my stash for a long time. I think she came from Create and Craft. I used a shaped Kanban card blank I have had forever, embossed a free folder from a magazine onto the blank. 

If you look closely this folder was actually for Christmas but I felt the snowflakes in the corners were generic enough to be considered flowers as well. 

 I used some distress ink to highlight the embossing, some paper and ribbon that came with the flower fairy kit to cover the base of the card. Like many of you I am sure I have an abundance of paper flowers in my stash so I decided to use some of them to decorate the bottom of the easel and use a large paper rose for the stopper.

I don't often make tags but as I was clearing up , yes it does happen sometimes I realised I had missed a layer of the decoupage, ooops, rather than throw it away I decided to use some of the paper scraps t create a tag. A little ribbon and all done.

First post for Crafty Girls!!!

Good Morning, this is my first post for my new Design Team position at Crafty Girls, I am very excited to be joining such a lovely team of creative ladies.

This time we are sponsored by the fabulous Bug A Boo. I have used the lovely Roses Block for my card. As always our challenge is Anything Goes.

I have often looked at cards using the Spotlight technique and admired them but never really had a suitable image for the technique. I decided to try it with this image. The Spotlight technique involves colouring a small part of an image and placing it directly over the same image underneath. 

I also used some foil on the Spotlight not that you can see it very well but it is there promise.

Good Morning, I didn't get a chance to post before now as Sam and I went for a nice 6 mile walk. 

No crafting on show on my desk today as I need to do my paperwork!!! It's all in monthly piles and I just need to enter it all, so one month at a time I think.

Hello again, apologies for missing the last two weeks the time just ran away from me and it was Friday before I realised. No desk to show you this week as it's covered with projects I can't share just yet so I decided to show you our new four legged friend Sam.

Sam is from the Dogs Trust and we collected him last Tuesday. He is about a year old and is a Patterdale with a Rhodesian ridgeback, thankfully he has terrier legs so isn't quiet as big as you might think.

Some exciting news....

Hello again, I know I missed my Wednesday post how fast is the week going!!! Anyway I have some very exciting news today I am delighted to join the Design Team at Create and Inspire yay :D

This is a monthly blog where the design team showcase their stunning creations and hope to see you join them in showing your beautiful makes. 

This month we are sponsored by the fabulous OddBall Art and our theme which considering it's February couldn't be anything else is to use hearts. 

I have used Dancing Girl for my make this time. She is coloured using my Spectrum Noir and Promarkers. I used the Modern Lace digikit from my Craft Artist and a gold coloured blank from Anna Marie Designs, I do love their cards and envelopes.

Hello again another Wednesday has arrived which is a little scary!! 

Thank you all so much for the kind comments about our beautiful dog. We had to take the sad decision to send him to sleep on Friday. It was very hard but the right thing to do for him. Gone but never forgotten. 

On a different note I have a desk to sow you this week. If you are new to all this and wondering why I am sharing my desk please go to Julia's blog where all is explained, it's always interesting and fun to see what other crafters are up to. 

So on my desk I have a card which needs to be posted made with Kanban and HunkyDory goodies.
My Spectrum Noir pencils and stumps, there is some solution for the stumps but it's not visible on this picture. I am practising using a freebie from the fabulous Sheepski Designs.

The packet is a combo of an embossing folder and stamp set I picked up in The Range while out with my friend. Had a play with it last night and will be good for very quick easy cards that are cheap to post!!

The lady birds are part of a project I am working on but can't share just yet.

I had intended to post the creations below previously but things kind of happened so sharing them now.

I made this zig zag  card for a neighbours birthday card. I made the flowers with some scrap paper and my punches. I used some gems in the middle for some sparkle and to finish them off.

When the card is made with lots of flowers like this it doesn't fit in in an envelope so I used some left over flowers to decorate a plain paper gift bag. I used some new ribbon to finish it off. 

This is the same bag laid down so you can see it a little closer. 

I coloured this using my Spectrum Noir and Promarker pens, this is my second colouring for a while but I can't share the first one with you yet!! I used a heart punch for the edge, a little piece of white ribbon which I coloured, I love being able to do this and added some flowers at the bottom.

 My Mum asked for a bracelet that showed friendship so I made this using some Lapis Lazuli beads, spacer beads and blue satin cord.

Good Morning, it's been a long time since I took part in a WOYWW but it's nice to join in again. 

So this is my workyop this morning as you can see I have been playing with my jewellery bits and bobs lately. I find this a nice way to ease back into crafting.

I just need to put all the stuff away now which I will get round to at some point, maybe.

I hope to visit everyone but if not I will as many as I can over the week so see you soon.

Hello Again

I know I know it's been a long time since I posted but had a lot going on in life, we lost my beautiful Gran last year which really made crafting take a back seat. However it's a new year and a new start.

I made this card and gift bag for my Mum to give to a friend for a special birthday.

 It uses the Tattered Lace Zig Zag dies which are new and lots of flowers made with scrap paper, card and punches.

I ended up going with a gift bag and tissue paper as I couldn't find an envelope big enough to fit the card without squashing my flowers.
I really enjoyed using my punches for this project and it was faster than using dies for flowers so they will be getting used more often this year.
